How Does Ozone Treat Odors?

01
Ozone is Generated
Commercial-grade ozone generators produce ozone by splitting oxygen molecules (O₂) with an electric charge. These free oxygen atoms (O) then recombine with O₂ to form ozone (O₃), a highly reactive molecule.
02
Ozone Spreads and Seeks Out Contaminants
Once released, ozone gas disperses throughout the yacht, penetrating fabrics, air ducts, cushions, and hard-to-reach spaces. Because ozone is a gas, it can reach areas traditional cleaning methods can’t.

03
Molecular Oxidation
Ozone reacts with odor-causing molecules such as VOCs, bacteria, smoke particles, and mold spores. It breaks their chemical bonds by donating an oxygen atom—this is oxidation. The targeted contaminants are chemically altered, effectively neutralizing them.
04
Ozone Naturally Dissipates into Oxygen
After the treatment, ozone quickly breaks back down into regular oxygen (O₂). No artificial scents or residues are left behind—just clean, fresh, breathable air.
